When you study American history, you hear a lot about "Colonial Times." Answer these questions by doing a little on-line research.
1) What does the word "colony" mean? What does the word "colonist" mean?
2) Whose colony was America?
3) When and where was the first American colony?
4) Where did the colonists come from before they lived in America?
5) What marks the end of the colonial time period? What year was that?
Here's the assignment:
Take the on-line virtual tour of the Betsey Ross house and look at this site about kids in Colonial times. Do some on-line research of your own about life in colonial America. Observe and list ten ways life would be different living in that house at that time than it is living in your house now.
